Pomfret Tawa Fry

Pomfret Tawa Fry is quick and easy to make. The fish tastes amazing and delicious when served with a dash of lemon and onion.

This spicy masala coated pomfret Tawa fry that is melt-in-mouth and with a dash of lemon, it tastes absolutely delicious.

Tawa fry version is better over deep fried for not only health reasons but also because of the spicy masala that coats the fish. You can also make Tandoori pomfret by cooking the fish in tandoori masala, this would be a healthier option. Let me share some basic benefits of adding fish in your diet. Fishes are the rich source of essential fatty acids (omega-3 fatty acids)and minerals.  It also contains a good amount of iodine which is critical for the thyroid gland. Thus, Pomfret is good for eyesight, healthy hair and skin.



Ingredients

  • Fish -Whole Pomfret clean

  • Lemon Juice- 1/2 Pc

  • Coriander Powder- 2 Tsp

  • Red Chili Powder- 1 Tsp

  • Salt- To taste

  • Garam Masala Powder- 1/2 Tsp

  • Turmeric Powder- Just a pinch

  • Garlic Paste- 2 Tsp

  • Ginger Paste- 1 Tsp

  • Green Chili Paste-1 Tsp

  • Curd- 3 Tsp

  • Olive Oil/Refined Oil- 1 Tbsp

  • Tandoori Masala- 2 Tsp


PROCESS


Step 1

Apply the lemon Juice (1/2 pc) and salt (just a pinch) evenly on the clean fresh Pomfret fish and leave it for 15 minutes.

STEP 2

Mix Coriander Powder (2 Tsp), Red Chili Powder (1 Tsp), Salt (To taste), Garam Masala Powder (1/2 Tsp), Turmeric Powder (Just a pinch) Garlic Paste (2 Tsp), Ginger Paste (1 Tsp), Green Chili Paste (1 Tsp), Curd (3 Tbsp), Olive Oil/Refined Oil (1 Tbsp) in the marinade bowl.

STEP 3

Apply the marinade paste on the fish evenly and also stuff the marinade paste in all the cuts and keep it for 15 Minutes. Now add the Tandoori Masala (2 tsp) in the marinade and apply the marinade again. .


STEP 4

Preheat the non stick Tawa/Pan, greased with oil and shallow fry the fish delicately until golden brown crust.

You may bake this fish in oven/microwave or Tandoor it on charcoal flame as well.

Garnishing & Accompaniments

Garish it with choice of Saute vegetables and present it the way you fee like, but serve it with our special Dhaniya Pudina Hajmola Chutney.

Top Tips

  • Take the fresh Pomfret of 250 gms appx each

  • Take whole Pomfret and get it cleaned without cutting the head for better presentation

  • You may twist the spices in the marinade as per your taste preference of cultural influence

  • Take extra care and use right tools to fry the fish as it's very delicate.
